My BIO

Chad has been part of the yachting industry for over 22 years.   From the beginning, Chad grew up on and around boats (and planes).  With both parents being avid multi-boat owners/operators and pilots, learning every detail and every aspect of boat ownership and boat handling came at a very early age. Starting in Charleston, SC, then relocating to the Florida Keys at 11.  He had his first boat of his own at 5 yrs old, starting with a 10′ john boat with a 2.5hp and moving up the ranks as the years went by.  Owning and operating anything from single engine outboard center consoles to twin screw 30 plus footers to a 43′ twin inboard Hatteras M/Y.

Having grown up running boats from such an early age, it was inevitable for him to become a Professional Captain, getting his 100 Ton Masters License as soon as he could at 18.  Soon after, he started captaining ferry boats for a couple of years before getting into the yachting industry.  Steadily upgrading his license, professional training, and networking, he holds a 1600 Ton Oceans Master’s License.  For most of his professional captain career, he ran a 116′ M/Y for a great New England family and a new build 130′ Westport for an amazing Midwest family.  He oversaw the build and was captain of Westport Yachts’ last 112′ built.  Traveling tens of thousands of sea miles from Alaska down through the Panama Canal, the entire East Coast of the US, all the Great Lakes and Canadian Maritimes, all throughout the Bahamas, the US and British Virgin Islands, and the Western Mediterranean.

His main priority is to help his clients have an enjoyable and productive buying or selling experience.  Desperately seeing the need for experienced captains in the broker world who have a testament to what is really needed made Chad move over to the brokerage side of things. All these experiences, travels, and professional operation of both large and smaller vessels have given Chad a unique and invaluable edge to help guide his clients in what type/size boat may be best for their needs.  Having been part of the purchase, sales, operation, and crewing of many large yachts over 2 decades, he is ready to help you find the yacht of your dreams or upgrade into a larger vessel your family has outgrown or maybe downsize to a boat that now better suits your needs.

 Chad is married with 3 great kids, 16,18, and 24, and resides in Jupiter, FL.  In his free time, he loves to fly his taildragger airplane any chance he has.
